If you stop paying, the copy you have keeps working forever. The yearly fee covers new features as they ship. Using Kernl at work? A commercial license applies once a company gives it to its people or puts it on company hardware. Not sure which you are? Email us and we will tell you.
A personal license renews once a year at the price you were last charged, until you cancel; sales tax or VAT is added where the law requires it. Email hello@getkernl.ai within 30 days of a paid purchase and we will refund it in full, with no reason required. The 90-day trial takes no card, so there is usually nothing to refund. The Terms say all of this in full.
What it costs to run
The license is the only thing you buy from us. What each task costs after that depends on which of these you use, and you can switch between them at any time.
Runs on your own computer. There is nothing to pay per task, no limit on how much you use it, and your work never leaves the machine.
Connect an account you already have with Claude, GPT, or Gemini for better answers on hard problems. They bill you directly at their published rates. We do not handle that money and we do not add anything to it.
Claude Pro or Max, or ChatGPT through Codex. Kernl runs the tool you have already signed in to, so the work comes out of the plan and there is no second bill. We never see the login.
Install it and look around first. No account, no card. Kernl needs a model to do anything, so pick one of the others when you want it to start working.
