Questions before you download

Kernl is a Windows agent that works through your files, programs and browser. You describe a result, it plans the work, asks before risky actions and shows what it finished.

The built-in AI works offline. Stay offline in Settings, Privacy stops every request that would leave this computer, except to a private server you added; not the reports, not the version check. A program Kernl runs is not covered. See what each switch does.

Kernl runs on Windows 10 (1809 or newer) or 11. The full-quality local AI needs an NVIDIA card with 16 GB or more, or an 8 to 12 GB NVIDIA card with 32 GB of system memory; smaller setups get a smaller model Kernl labels as below its quality bar, and it is slow on the processor. AMD and Intel cards are not yet confirmed. See the requirements.

The built-in AI runs on your computer and keeps prompts and files there. Online AI from OpenRouter, OpenAI, Claude or Gemini is usually better at hard problems, but your request goes to that company under your account.

Kernl includes a local AI. You can also sign in to OpenRouter, add your own OpenAI, Claude or Gemini key, or connect an AI server such as Ollama or LM Studio on this computer or your network.

Kernl is Windows only. Local pictures, video and music are proven on NVIDIA graphics cards; pictures and music are experimental on recent AMD Radeon and Intel Arc cards with Windows 11, and local video still needs NVIDIA.

No. Conversations and files stay on your computer and are not sent to us. They go to an AI company only when you choose its online service; a website, connector or networked program may also send what its task requires. See the full data list.

Optional product analytics and health reports contain counts such as whether a request finished or an update failed, never your prompt, reply, file names or file contents. Stay offline in Settings, Privacy stops them.

Yes, but only where the work can be undone. Inside the folder you open it does not ask each time; it stops before anything it cannot take back, anything that leaves your machine, or an action it does not recognise. See when it asks.

What you wrote or what Kernl replied, the names, paths, or contents of your files, and your keys or passwords never enter reports. Your address reaches the reporting service the way it reaches any server, but the setting that turns it into a country and a city is switched off, so those fields are empty.

No. Kernl is funded by licenses, not by selling visitor or product data.

Plus can ask for approval from another device, including from your phone's browser.

The free version includes chat work with no time limit, account or card. During the preview, scheduled and background work are included at no charge; Plus is not for sale yet. Companies need a commercial license.

The installer is the size shown on the download page. On first run, Kernl checks the computer and downloads a local AI that fits; if you use only an online AI key, there is no model download.

Uninstall it from Windows Settings, Apps. The uninstaller keeps conversations, settings and downloaded models unless you select "Delete the application data"; cloud keys remain in Windows Credential Manager until you remove them there.

The free version does not contact our licensing service. It looks for a newer release when it starts; switch that off in Settings. If a paid term ends, Kernl drops back to the free version rather than stopping.

Kernl currently supports Windows today. macOS and Linux are in progress.. Plus includes a 30-day trial when sales open.
