Beta · v0.432.0

AI that actually works on your computer.

Give Kernl a job. It works with your files, browser and apps to get it done, and asks before anything risky.

  • Undo a whole turn
  • No account
  • A plan you already pay for: Claude, ChatGPT

Screenshot of Kernl. What you download looks like this.

The Kernl app: a chat answering a Python question with a step-by-step table, generated by a Qwen 27B model running on the machine's own GPU, with conversation history on the left and panes on the right where files and media Kernl makes are collected
A local model answering on the machine's own GPU. Everything Kernl makes lands in the pane beside the chat, and its history stays on this computer.
You ask, you get something real

You say it in plain words. You get a real file back.

No settings to learn. Each of these came from one sentence a person typed. Open any one to see the real thing it made, then see more of what people use Kernl for.

Your authority

You decide what Kernl can do.

It gets on with ordinary work without interrupting you. Before it sends something, makes a change it cannot take back, or tries something new, it asks.

Kernl pausing before it opens a page: a card headed 'Allow Kernl to proceed with opening a page in the browser?' showing exactly what will run (https://example.com), a fingerprint, the consequence in one line (This leaves your computer), a choice of how far the permission goes (just this once, this chat, or until Kernl closes), and Allow, Edit first, Deny and Never allow buttons
Your model

Any AI you like, including one on your own PC.

Kernl can work offline on a model on your machine, sign in to a plan you already pay for with Claude or ChatGPT, or use a key you bring. What it makes lands as ordinary files in a folder you choose.

Kernl's AI Models settings on a machine with an NVIDIA RTX 5090: the model currently in use at the top, how much of the graphics card's memory is free, and a list of models available to download, each labelled with how well it would fit this card (Fits your GPU, Tight fit, or Too large)
When you are not there

Let repeat work run itself.

Save a job and have Kernl run it later, on a schedule, or when a folder changes. If it needs your approval you can answer from another device.

Integrations

Works with the tools you already use.

Your files, your browser, your documents, and accounts like GitHub, Slack and Notion once you sign in.

Download Kernl for Windows.

One installer, no account required. Setup picks an AI that fits your machine and downloads it, or you connect an account you already have.

We will email you when a new build ships.
