I am writing to formally request an immediate update and a clear schedule for the completion of our kitchen renovation, which began on 24 March.

Our contract, signed on 12 March, specified a project timeline of six weeks, with substantial completion due within eight weeks of the start date. As of today, we are in week twenty, and the project remains significantly incomplete.

To summarize the current status:

• The base cabinets were installed at the end of May.
• No further work has been completed since then. The worktop, splashback, and sink are all uninstalled.
• The last visit to the site by a member of your team was a brief visit on 11 June.
• My deposit of 4,200 was paid via bank transfer on 20 March.

I have attempted to contact you on numerous occasions since the beginning of July, including six phone calls (three with voicemails left) and two text messages. The only response I received was a text on 9 July stating you were "chasing the fabricator" and would provide an update that Friday, which did not happen.

The extensive delay has caused considerable disruption, including our family having to wash dishes in a bathroom since May. We also have an important family event on 6 September that requires the kitchen to be functional.

To resolve this, I require a response in writing with the following:

1. A formal acknowledgement of this email and the delays to date.
2. A detailed project schedule with firm dates for the completion of all outstanding work.
3. A specific, confirmed installation date for the kitchen worktop.

If you are unable to provide this schedule and a firm commitment to completion, I ask that you refund the balance of my deposit so I can engage another contractor to finish the work.

I expect to receive your response by the end of this week.
